“Let’s Hear It For the Boy!!” (Footloose fans will get this reference) Us Magazine is reporting that Zac Efron is no longer going to be be reprising the role of Kevin Bacon in the future remake of Footloose.

A rep for Paramount Pictures released this statement, “Footloose is a project we’ve longed to see re-booted for a new generation. While Zac is no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of [director] Kenny Ortega, [producers] Neil Meron and Craig Zaden, who will reinvigorate the franchise.”

Efron has not come out and addressed the reason why he dropped out of the film, but it has been speculated it is due to him wanting to take on different roles than the dancing high school teen. Efron signed on for this movie back in 2007 before the release of Hairspray and High School Musical 3.

There has been no announcement for who will replace Efron in Footloose.

Zac Efron can be seen next in his new movie, 17 Again, which opens up in theaters in April.

First of all, Footloose is a classic and one of my favorite movies of all time. Secondly, is Hollywood running out of ideas for original movies? Why do have to do remakes? I sure do hope that this remake of Footloose is half way decent and doesn’t give the movie a bad name.

The Hills star Lauren Conrad told Seventeen magazine that season 5 will be the last season for the show. Didn’t she also say that about season 4?

 Lauren goes on to say, “My biggest thing with the show was that I wanted to walk away from it while it’s still a great thing,” she explains. “I always want to remember it that way. I gave MTV a deadline and said, ‘This is as long as I can do it and stay sane.’ ”

 I used to watch The Hills when it was first on, through seasons 1 and 2. By season 3 when Lauren and Heidi started fighting, is when I lost interest. I mean why have a show if the two main characters don’t even interact? To me, the show was really getting fake also. It seemed so staged and was just interesting to me anymore. Now, every once in awhile I will still catch an episode here and there as repeats while flicking trhough the channel, but I no longer follow the show and the storyline. (Yes I said storyline, because I think that it is a made-up story).

My question is, how much of Lauren’s life will even be on the show. Her boyfriend, Kyle Howard can’t be on the show due to his contract with his television show and also Lauren wants to keep their relationship off camera. Her work doesn’t want all the cameras there all the time, as you only see her working a few times and now that Whitney isn’t there, why would they show her at work? Anyways, I think that Lauren needs to just go back to regular life and do what Kristin Cavalleri did and try acting or being part of Hollywood and then fall off the face of the earth because they really don’t have any talent.

Rihanna was finally spotted back in the US in Los Angeles Thursday night. It is the first time the singer has been photographed out since her altercation with Chris Brown.  Photos show Rihanna sitting in the back seat of a car, wearing dark sunglasses and looking pretty somber.

Rihanna should be celebrating her 21st birthday today, but there is no news of her being seen out anywhere celebrating. She is still laying low considering that the picture of her with bruises and cuts on her face from the incident with Chris Brown was just leaked into the public.

Rihanna also finally released a statement through her rep about the whole incident with Chris Brown. Her rep was quoted as saying, “She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.” Her rep also said that the singer is “not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown.”

 Because of the tough times of the economy, the band Coldplay is doing their part to help others. They are going to be be releasing a live album this summer that they will be giving away free. Yes, for free! The album will be given away to people who attend their stadium gigs this summer.

Chris Martin, who is the lead singer of Coldplay told The Sun:

“We’re playing a lot of shows in the summer and I think what we would like to do is - bearing in mind the recession we are in - record the live album then give it as a gift. “We are just trying to work out how to do that. It’s obviously a bit tricky in terms of record contracts and things but it would be great. Its a way of saying thank you. It’s a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets.”

The band is trying to work it out so that when you hand in your ticket at the entrance to get into the show, they hand you a free CD back.

Does anyone really see this as a deal? So, people are going to be paying good money to see Coldplay live and they get a CD that is worth, what $15 at the most? They say they want to give “respite” to the people during this recession. They really think that a free CD is going to make people feel so much better for paying $100 to go see them live? Probably not! But I guess it is a nice gesture and the true, hard-core Coldplay fans will love it.

I think that they should just reduce their concert ticket prices to half price and then that will be helping people out with the recession!

Country singer Carrie Underwood may have just started dating Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher last month, but she isn’t afraid of being seen supporting her man. Underwood attended the hockey game between the Senators and the Predators in Nashville and was seen cheering Fisher on during the game. She sat in a private box at the arena and was seen wincing as Fisher got hit against the glass. At one point during the game, Fisher looked up in her direction and she flashed him a huge smile back. Underwood remained in the private box for the whole game until  is was over when she reportedly joined Fisher in the team room.

Just last week, Carrie Underwood proclaimed that she was anti-Valentine’s Day, stating that her man should love her everyday of the year. I wonder if Fisher knows this? Carrie was previously linked to Dr. Stork and Chase Crawford.

Heroes costars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia have broken off their relationship. According to US Magazine, a source says the the cause of the break up was “a lifestyle conflict.” Panettiere is only 19 years old were Ventimiglia is 31. The 12 year age difference finally caught up with their relationship. Hayden is young and likes to go out and have a good time, while Milo is more relaxed and likes to stay away from the whole Hollywood scene and is focusing on he his new production company.

According to the source, the couple are “still on friendly terms.”  This is not the first couple that has work together and then had a relationship and then broken if off and still had to go to work and see each other everyday. Remember when Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush got divorced? They still work on One Tree Hill together. I’m sorry, but even if you are on “friendly terms” is still has to be hard going to work everyday and see your ex there. That is why celebrities should not date other celebrities that they work with on a regular basis.

Also, a couple of days ago I read an article stating that Hayden was spotted hanging with Jesse McCartney. Could this be her new boy toy already?

Actress Lindsay Lohan has admitted that she has lost some weight but she has not done it intentionally. She says that she has been “working a lot” and also blames “stress…and lack of sleep when I travel.”  She also goes on to say that she eats normally just like she always does. She even tells US Magazine that she had a Big Mac from McDonald’s the other day.

Lindsay says that she doesn’t care what people in Hollywood says about her weight anymore. She doesn’t feel the pressure to be thin anymore. She says that she does what she wants and is her “own person.” She also says that she is not perfect, but nobody is.

So, do you believe what Lindsay Lohan is saying? I can’t say that I do. I mean she has been working a lot. Doing what? She hasn’t put out any movies lately. All she has been doing is following around her girlfriend to her events. And about the whole Big Mac thing, yea she probably ate the thing but then threw it back up. I hat when celebrities say that they are skinny from working too much or stress. There is always on-site catering on movies and TV shows. They don’t have 10 minutes to eat? Maybe Lindsay is just trying to get attention since she hasn’t done any movies lately and non one seems to want to hire her. Or maybe she is busy doing drugs wither girlfriend?

Last night at a sold out concert for Paul Simon,  Art Garfunkel made a special appearance, reuniting the ever famous Simon and Garfunkel. The New York concert was only played as a Paul Simon concert, but I guess he wanted to make it extra special for Valentine’s Day. For the first 2 hours, Simon played all his solo hits such as “You Can Call Me Al,” and “Graceland.”  Then all of a sudden Garfunkel took the stage and the crowd went crazy. They even gave him a standing ovation.

 The pair went on to play famous Simon and Garfunkel songs such as “The Sound of Silence,” and “The Boxer.” Concert-goers said it was like they didn’t miss a beat and were the same old Simon and Garfunkel.

The reunion was a huge hit with the numerous celebrities that had gone to the concert. Just some of the celebrities that were spotted at the concert were Whoopi Goldberg, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Bon Jovi, Harvey Weinstein, James Gandolfini, Rosie O’Donnell, and mayor Micheal Bloomberg. Even Paul McCartney got into the concert, clapping and cheering as Garfunkel walked onto the stage!

Every magazine, tabloid and online entertainment source has at least 10 articles about Jessica Simpson’s weight. Who cares if Kim Kardashian is coming to the rescue of Jessica or if Ken Paves is protecting Jessica. It’s ridiculous how many stories and articles there on her weight and who is coming to her aid and what she said last night at her concert.

So what, she has gained some weight. She is not the first celebrity this has happened to. In fact, this is not the first time it has happened to her. Remember when she was dating John Mayer and there was reports of her gaining weight while with him? Why is it that every entertainment source has to keep bringing it up. Let it go. It’s done and it’ over-played. Stop asking other celebrities what they think about Jessica Simpson’s weight or what she wore or how she is dealing with it. No one cares anymore! These entertainment sources need to realize that we don’t want to see 10 articles about Jessica Simpson’s weight.

 So, who else is with me on this one? I could stand to not hear about Jessica Simpson for the next 6 months now and be happy, but you know that in about a month the tabloids will have back on the covers saying how she lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks or something ridiculous like that!

According to reports from Access Hollywood, Usher’s wife, Tameka Foster Raymond, was off in Brazil getting some kind of plastic surgery done and she suffered serious complications from the surgery. Last night, Usher cancelled his performance at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy Gala. Davis went on to say that Usher was dealing with a “serious injury in the family.”

 Tameka and Usher have been married since August 2007 and they have two children together.  Foster just gave birth  2 months ago in December to their second son. She also has 3 children from a previous relationship that she had.

So, I am wondering why she went to Brazil for her plastic surgery? Why couldn’t she just have her surgery done here in the United States? What kind of plastic surgery was it that she had to go to Brazil or did she just not want anybody to know that she was getting plastic surgery. Is this what most celebrity people do? Go to other countries for plastic surgery to hide it? If I had to guess, I would say that she had a tummy tuck after having 5 kids.

Anyways, I really do hope she is okay and this might be a wake up call to other celebrities about getting plastic surgery in other countries or getting plastic surgery at all.
